New(ish) Cricut Explore Electronic Die Cutting Machine

Having friends in high places (aka Amy Wanford), I was extremely fortunate to attend a marvelous event back in April, showcasing the (then still to be released) new Cricut Explore electronic die cutting machine.  It shames me to admit that I only opened the box of my complimentary (my opinions are my own etc.) machine 2 days ago but let me tell you, once I did - there was no stopping me!!

I am a complete technophobe so the prospect of trying out the machine for the first time was a little bit daunting but I needn't have worried - it really was quite simple and straightforward (and lots of fun!).

Used in conjunction with your PC, an abundance of design software (you can still use cartridges if you prefer) can be purchased on the Cricut website (prices starting at 79p) but I made all of the following projects using free (for 2 weeks after subscribing) Cricut software...

Cricut Explore: Roses & Leaves (300gsm Card)

Cricut Explore: Flowers & Leaves (300gsm Card) & Doily (Vinyl)

A summary of my favourite features:

  • Cuts a variety of mediums from card to fabric - simply turn a dial to select
  • Cuts cleanly
  • User friendly software
  • Cuts, scores and draws
  • All designs can be re-sized

Thank you so much for taking time out of your weekend to drop by on me today, I'm always thrilled to have your company ;) *mwah*

A Catch Up & A Card (& Long Over Due Winners!!)

We're back!!!!  I can't tell you how good it felt to make this card after 3 weeks away from my craft table...

Supplies: Stamps - Clearly Besotted 'Fabulous Fuchsias' / Tools - Clearly Besotted Dies 'Fabulous Fuchsias Die Collection', 'Fabulous Fuchsias Branch & Leaves Die' & 'Trellis Die'

It was so wonderful having three weeks with the family away from 'work' that for a fleeting second I actually considered giving it all up but needless to say that passed very quickly as I reminded myself how (ungrateful and spolied I am for a start LOL) incredibly lucky I am to have such a fantastic job where I get to engage with such fantastic people (yes, you!) :D

HUGE apologies for the unacceptable delay in announcing the winners for the June (yes, June!!) Challenge and July Giveaway.  I am aware of the time, effort and goodwill put into entering challenges and leaving comments and therefore have no excuse for my shameful disregard!  Instead, I have increased the prize from £30 to £40 e-giftcard:

Before I go, I must say a big thank you to my baby sister (she's 15 years younger than me!) Jenny, who held the fort marvelously while I was away!  For those of you who don't know, Jenny also designs all of our stamp sets (unless otherwise specified) so without her there would be no Clearly Besotted Stamps!

Thank you for still dropping by even though I have been slacking - you really are the best!  Enjoy the rest of your week :) xoxo
